Christine Lathuras, D.D.S., owner of Sunrise Family Dental Care, was recognized by the Waterbury Regional Chamber for her support of the Waterbury Community and the greater World Wide community through her volunteerism and generosity.
Dr. Lathuras was recognized for her volunteerism at the 13th annual Waterbury Regional Chamber Health Care Council breakfast. Dr. Lathuras received the 2018 Leadership award from the Chamber. As Dr. Lathuras said, her volunteering started while she was very young, “probably before I could even walk” and it began through the guidance by her parents. For Dr. Lathuras, volunteerism is a way of life – a calling. She took her first volunteer trip twenty-six years ago to the Dominican Republic.
Since then, Dr. Lathuras has traveled to 12 countries on four continents with members of her staff to offer dental services in refugee camps, orphanages, schools and churches. Lathuras also provides free dental care locally to the underprivileged and every month, Dr. Lathuras underwrites a significant donation to a local organization and enables a different staff member to choose which charity they want to receive the donation.
Dr. Lathuras is the owner of Sunrise Family Dental Care (SFDC) at 160 Robbins Street in Waterbury, CT. SFDC is your Connecticut Dentist offering everything from cosmetic dentistry, to implants to orthodontics in Waterbury, CT and surrounding areas.
